Muhammet is a sought-after physiotherapist in Victoria that is highly certified and clinically educated to help clients with sports related injuries and concerns, both acute and chronic injuries.
Born and raised in Amsterdam, the Netherlands; he completed his training for physiotherapy at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences in 2013. After moving to Canada, he completed his Certificate and Diploma levels of sports physiotherapy in Canada. Muhammet has worked with all levels of athletes, teams, and individuals.
Muhammet obtained a Masters of Clinical Science degree in Sport and Exercise Medicine from the University of Western Ontario and he holds a Sport Physiotherapy Diploma from the governing body Sport Physiotherapy Canada (SPC). This is the highest designation for sport physiotherapy in Canada and enables the recognition of Registered International Sport Physical Therapist by the International Federation of Sports Physical Therapists (IFSPT)
Furthermore, Muhammet is a certified performance therapist and performance specialist by EXOS. EXOS is a human performance company headquartered in Phoenix with sites worldwide. EXOS uses their proprietary performance system to train and rehabilitate elite athletes playing in the NFL, NHL, NBA and other national level competitions.
In addition, Muhammet completed several post-graduate courses in Netherlands, Canada and the United States including an IMS/Dry Needling and Mulligan mobilizations certifications.
When he is not helping patients on the Island get back to their game you can usually find him playing soccer or watching a variety of sports, including rugby, football, basketball and soccer.

My extensive history competing in sport, including playing university soccer, working with sports teams in track & field and hockey, and being active have grown my passion for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance to meet your specific goals. My treatment approach aspires to be outcome-oriented and is primarily based on individualized exercise programming blended with pain science, education, and manual therapy.

I’m also eager to pursue further education in manual therapy, chronic pain and vestibular, concussion and athlete rehab. I’m passionate about assessing and treating running related injuries or prevention through assessing gait and building training programs.

I was originally born on the island, and I’ve lived throughout BC and Alberta, including finishing my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at University of Lethbridge and most recently, my Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Outside of work, I like to practice what I preach by staying active biking, hiking, exploring beaches or playing soccer.
